Hi all, forgive me if this isn’t the appropriate place to post about how’s and to’s. We’re planning a trip around the Coos Bay area at the end of July and thinking of bringing the yak. Have never fished around the area if there are any pointers and suggestions… much appreciated🙇🏽‍♂️

Sunset bay would be the spot to go, it's a protected beach launch, you can fish a bit around kelp beds at the mouth of the small bay if the ocean is a bit rocky or if it's a calm day then try your hand at Simpsons reef or otherwise near the lighthouse.

What type of fishing are you looking to do?  Ocean? Large bay/tidewater near the ocean?  Lakes?

@Matt thank you, actually camping around there so will look into

@Roger I’m all salt! But without knowing the area I’m reluctant to venture too far, bays are probably my best comfort. Not sure if I’ll be trolling or just jigging. Assuming rocks and lings but any kings around then?
