Thank you for that (no good) report. I was considering going Saturday or Sunday (even though it is getting late in the season), but not anymore. It would have been a huge waste of gas and time to go and not catch any.

my goal of converting Newport herring into fall salmon has gone well. So far, I've mooched up 2 coho and 2 chinook this fall...finally got the whole deal on video Saturday, from hook-up to netting of a 33" chinook:

That s awesome! The herring i usually juig up makes great lingcod bait but often too big for salmon. So cool you were able to convert from herring fly-->herring--> salmon.
