FWIW - I just read that the parking lot at Cape Kiwanda is closed due to construction!  Just wondering if there are other places to park that allow a decent kayak launch? I have been reluctant to park on the beach as I don't know the protocols and don't want to get stuck in the sand getting out. Also not familiar enough with the surrounding area to have alternative launches in my back pocket. The website says it should be ready for the summer season. Thinking that I may put off buying my Tillamook parks pass for a bit, until the lot is ready.

I've always parked on the beach, it's no biggie. If it's a nice day, there will for sure be others parked on the sand, easy to figure out where to do so, and signs telling you where you can't.

The sand is almost always packed enough to not be an issue, but if you do get stuck, there is always someone around to pull ya out, or just deflate your tires, and fill em back up at the gas station about a block away.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Depoe Bay launch and parking lot are closed this week due to repaving the whole thing as well.

Just wondering if this is accurate?  I checked the Pelican Brewery webcam this morning to look at conditions and it looked like there were plenty of cars already parked in the lot.  I would use the beach anyways, but just wondering if the closure was related to the Depoe parking lot instead?
