Posting this for my neighbor, she won this 16.5', 32" wide homebuild tandem kayak and what looks like a nice trailer for a $5 lottery entry. She has had if for a while just sitting under a trap, she isn't going to use it and would like to sell it but does not have any idea the value and neither do I.

1- can anyone help me with an idea of what she might be able to sell it for?

2- is anyone interested in this sort of kayak/trailer?

It looks like it could be a Chesapeake Light Craft Mill Creek 16.5. The complete kit sells for around $1550.

But I have no idea what the buyer demand would be. Probably a better market up in Washington and Puget Sound but it would be a nice lake boat. I haven't seen any of these before on the market.

That sure looks like a Mill Creek 16.5. I’ve toyed with building a CLC boat, and know a bit as a result. Their boats can be a tough sell on the used market, and seem to be priced at about the kit price. Assuming the original owner ordered from CLC, that’s probably one of their trailers, and I think they go for 1500- ish.

Have built 2 wooden kayaks - a Chesapeake 18 and a Pygmy Coho. Sold them each for around $1000
around 15 years ago which at that time was around or a little above the kit price (I think). Got very little attention from the 'south of Portland' market but lots of interest from Portland to Puget Sound, so that's where I'd focus. The trailer might double the value of the boat itself?
