Oh and I am very careful with the "look over the shoulder and reach for something in the tankwell" move.  That move has accounted for the majority of deep water rolls that I've heard of.  You know the one, where you look back in your tankwell while reaching for something in the back.  I usually just reach blind as I mostly know where everything is behind me.  If I can't find it and it's calm and I'm feeling lucky, I'll sneak a peak.  When in doubt, I'll go side saddle.

yehp, that's what caused me to fall out during our chum chase last fall @ hoodsport.. should'a side saddled or waited til i got caught up instead of being compulsive.

1.) 100%.. been there done that... rite of passage as a rookie..

2.)30-40%...i tend to try to keep a hand on the boat as i go over.. call it reflex. so far, each time i've went overboard, i've come up within 5 feet of my boat. even in surf

Its pretty unlikely that it won't happen.

2) <50%
This probably will not happen, but its a pretty fair possibility.
