Well after reading and reading and wishing and praying!  I went out and gathered up all the things I would need to get my FF installed.  With printed copies of multiple threads some notes and a few bucks I hit the stores.

Before I go any further I want to thank all of you on this board for being so willing to help a newbie out.  Thank's for sharing your ideas because without it I wouldn't have had an opportunity to pimp out my yak!  So again thank you!

well I cant figure out how to insert the pics so I will just attach.

My one last thing I need help with is how to put the transducer down......
Do I just put it in a pile of Goop? No bubbles I know!  Is there water that goes under the Goop?

Oh I have a foam piece that will get gooped down with cut out for transd and box...got that from a link one of you posted!! ;)

I'm am sure that I could have done many thing different but for now it works!!!!
Next on to an anchor system, then getting some of you guys to let me go fishing with ya!!!!

Congrats! Looks like a nice install. 8)

Bsteve's article on anchor setups is a good starting place. Anchoring is important for some fisheries, like sturgeon, but unnecessary for others, like trolling for springers or fishing for rockies and lings.

Go hookup, you'll be glad you did!

Nice job and thanks for the pictures.

As for fishing with us, no need for an anchor yet unless you really want a sturgeon.  I would start off slow in places like lakes and sloughs where anchors aren't that important and work your way up to the ocean and big game like sturgeon.

So where and when do you want to get out fishing?  Spot's report of a big brooder trout from Henry Hagg Lake has me excited about fishing there again.  Bass should be waking up about now too.

Aint no fish in Hagg Lake....   ;)

But if there were, they might hit on the following:

- A worm tipped wedding ring trolled, around the Dam or along the points between the Dam and Ramp C, behind a Ford Fender.

- Powerbait (green or pink) fished just off the bottom around the points

- A wooly bugger or scud slow trolled on the surface out in the middle

- A 5" jointed rapala behind a Ford Fender. (My newest favorite  ;D )

But don't bother cause there aint no fish in Hagg Lake.....

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
