Just got the confirmation that the in-laws WILL be coming into town tonight and staying for the weekend. I'm sure the dragon-in-law would be pissed if I was off fishin'. I'll flip a coin in the morning and decide if it's worth it....

Well the good news is I caught more fish then any of the "small boat club" I also had big fish.................Bad news the wind and threat of rain scared off all the rest. Water temp 49.4.

Got on the water at 8am light breeze..........9:15am first bite 18 1/2" -3lb8oz take a picture with my liter water bottle all is good. I'm the happy guy call up my buddy to give him the business(gotta love the bluetooth) Put on new plastic tell my bud about the one I just let go..........cast out and while I'm telling him my day is made you guessed it bit again for fish no#2 tried to get ruler in picture didn't workout so go 19" 3lb 12oz. Both fish came on split shotted senkos. Both fish came out of 12' of water.

Then the wind started to crank the picture does not really do it the real deal. 15lb northhill anchor and a 100ft of anchor rope couldn't hold a 15' alum boat. Couldn't hardly control boat with trolling motor (it a darn 50lb thrust). So the anchor as it was sliding along gave me a least the ability to believe I was still fishing. Finally pulled ran into a covered area caught a trout and a couple perch on the senko. Switched to a jig caught another trout(stupid trout) Finally about 1:30pm wind backed of a little tried rattle trap, slow roll spinnerbait and senkos for nada. 2:15 tied on a wiggle wart first cast hookup.........biggest fish of the day 21 1/2" 5.4lbs I know there's nothing in the picture to gauge that one with but I did get a cool pic of the crank in her mouth. I wish I had gotten better pic's but well I was getting my butt kicked.

Saw one other boat on the lake........no fish. Brutal weather wind and cold......but they bit!!!!

Too bad I missed out, but no way with the dragon-in-law in tow.  Just finished hiding all the eggs, as we were suddenly elected as the neighborhood egg hunting grounds.....   :o  Should be fun, but I'd rather be fishin'.  Congrats on the reward for your perserverance!

I may be hitting this up Sunday since I'll be in the area and its not my holiday.  Those are some beautiful bass Troy!  If can reverse my dry steak with anything half that good I'll be stoked.  If anyone wants to join me, I'll be out there in the afternoon so long as the wind isn't too bad.

I didn't know there were smallmouth in Shoecraft.  Definitely going to have to check that out.

Beautiful fish, "Good on ya" for braving the wind.  22 gusting to 30 when I got up.  No paddling weather that's for sure!
