I've been posting all my newbie questions in the same thread, but I think I will start breaking them up into the proper categories.

This is a bit of a delicate question, and I have solved this problem in other venues, but how does one pee in a kayak?  In many cases one may be close enough to proper shore to beach and take care of one's self on land, but I can also see that often one may not want to paddle in or a suitable landing zone may not be available.  I can certainly experiment and solve the problem on my own, but I expect others have already solved it.

Thanks, again.

Question on kayak storage.  I have room in the garage to supend my T13 for storage.  I've done some searching on the forum and it seems such storage is acceptable if done properly with well placed slings.  Where might one find slings?  A 3 or 4 inch wide heavy fabric/plastic long enough to cover the lower hull and attach to a ring, rope, and pulley system?

Here's the photos and discussion we had when I first got started and put a hoist system up

My 2 cents on the storage rack..

We (Wandering Richard) and i did the pully system that was sugested to him. It sucks!.   The rope jumps off the pullys on the break side of the pully system.
And It dont seem strong enough to pull the Kayak up by the means of one person. Rich had to hold the Yak as i pulled on the lines. The pully situation is perfect but my suggestion is go out and by individual pullys.

As my experience as a rigger in the Navy. I feel the rollars arnt deep enough on the pullys and the line is just rolling over the edge when a strain is put on the line which is the reason its jumping.

i don't know much about rope or pulleys lol...where would one find the best type of pulley for this job...i need to hang my kayak up....ive looked at places like mclendon hardware and they have pulleys but most of them are only rated at 30 pounds....i know if you have 2 30 pound pulleys it probably won't be a problem but what are your 2 cents on pulley selection

Check with places like Harbour Freight. or maybe some of the boating places.

As long as it has a safe workingload (SWL) of 40 to 50lbs you should be ok.

A hole is a hole is a hole.
Now, if I could just get the hole in the waders I'd be just fine aiming for the front scupper hole.

Thanks.  Good ideas.  How much of a factor is upside-down or right-side up?

I have a garage with a standard drywall ceiling height of about 8' and using a teardrop sling would put the yak at about head level  :-)   This is why I am thinking of a crossbar and a 'D' sling.

The T13A arrived today, pretty and yellow with that new boat smell!  I hope to get it in the water on Sunday or next week.  I'm thinking of Lake Washington at Sand Point or Lake Sammamish.  Any suggestions for a first-time on a Kayak would be appreciated.

This has got to be the funniest thread I've read in a long time. I started on the second page and missed the storage question.

Short answer: Gatorade bottle
Long answer: Relief valve that's still in development.

Those both sound like good places to start. We'll get a few days soon to get the Wa boyz together so keep your ears on.
