Nice fish Spot!   I have been having a good time catching springers out of the PB, but I need to get my priorities straight and go get one with the yak before it closes.  With so many folks fishing brined herring for salmon those gators have really keyed into them as a food source this time of year.

Thanks guys!   ;D

Like kykfshr says: "Springer is not about the points.  It's about the eating"

I had a big ole fillet last night and it was even better than I remember!  Everybody was making yummy noises with every bite.  I need to get another one in the freezer before the season is over!!!

OOPS!  Sorry HBH!!!  Like steelheadr said:  Hook1

Check them out.  They have great prices on a ton of yak fishing stuff!

BTW, I thought you weren't trying this year...

The girlfriend wanted a springer dinner and some smoked sturgeon.  Who am I to let her down?
I went out again yesterday afternoon to get that sturgeon but nothing was biting.  Tried salmon fishing for the last hour and was followed around by a big ole sea lion.  Wound up in a barking match with him but couldn't shake him..... $%&()

I'm looking forward to getting back in salt water. I set a goal of catching one on the Columbia around Portland this year, I just had no idea it would take so much time and effort. You are right though, I always seem to get SOMETHING in salt.

Maybe take along a Scooby snack for him.
Toss him a chunk-o-bait with some Dave's Insanity Sauce liberally applied inside.   ;D
