Well after much guideance from HuntinHick and reading a bunch on here over the last month or so.  I took the P15 out last night to a local lake.  Landed two trout, a 2 and 3 pounder.  It was a blast, especailly the 3 pounder.  I was amazed at the ease of movement and freedom I had casting, reeling and moving around on the lake.  Just wich I hadn't forgot the camera.

anyways, look forward to some more fun on the water this summer...

It was cool seeing another yak on the water.  A buddy of mine showed up with his 16 ft boat and we skunked them..  go yakkers.   that yak is looking good Pete you will love it even more once you get your rod holder mounted up.   looking forward to the next trip already.

Welcome to the forum.  Lots of info and a paddling/fishing is a great sport.

How do you tell if someone is really from the Bayou?  They spell their dog's name Phydeux!

I own some property in NOLA (destroyed in the hurricanes) and my best friend lived there for about 12 years.   A year after Katrina/Rita he suddenly dropped dead at 55.  I've spent a lot of time in NOLA and used to fish redfish with him out of Delacroix where he hung his little boat.

It's not a great photo (early cell phone camera), but it was a BIG fish.  It's even bigger when you know Fred Flames was 350 - ish.

Sorry to hear about you friend and property.  Luckily my parents and family were not effected for the most part.

there are still some good times to be had down there.  I retire from the Navy this year (20 years) and plan to have some crawdads shipped up here.

I have brought back many coolers of mudbugs.  I once sent a girlfriend out for 15 pounds of crawfish on the morning of our departure.  When we got to the airport and were off-loading the cooler from the truck, I heard a funny noise  coming from the cooler.  I opened it up and she had gotten 15 pounds of LIVE bugs!  We ducted tape the cooler shut, kept our mouths shut at checkin and they all got back alive.  A night in the refrigerator calmed them down and the next day into the 10 gallon pot with a couple packs of Rex crab boil.   YUM!!
