Third time on the boat, and back to Lake Ballinger for 4 hours.  Goal was to concentrate on yak fishing techniques and boat set up.  Hooked 3 trout and boated 1 trolling.  Lost the 2 at the boat.  I think the 40 year old frog pattern flatfish had a dull hook.  Boated on 40 year-old black with sparkles flatfish with a just sharpened hook.

Landing, measuring, photographing - my process needs some work.

I guess this makes me a kayak fisherman.

Yes, I agree.  I decided to mark a scale in the leg well since I could not see a way to use a scale on the side of the boat and take a picture when solo.  Also the camera is not water-proof so was stuck in a dry bag and had to get digged out.  The fish survived, but clearly my process needs re-evaluation.

demonick..

good job. on the fishing..   yea my cameras not water proof either. so it was in its case in a dry bag and had to pull it out everytime i wanted to use it. i was in the middle of trying to get it out when i got a fish on my line. it was funny i ended up loosing that one by the boat.

Congrats. Take my advice and get a hawg trough.

First blood! Congratulations.

I've been thinking of making something like the hawg trough that floats.

Maybe use 6" drain pipe, put caps on both ends, then saw it in half. Add some foam on the outside so that it floats.
