I could do Cle Elum this Sunday.  Maybe Saturday.

Scott

Right now Sunday is looking best for me.  Looking to do a repeat of last year's end of May trip.

OK, I'll ask...what the heck is that chart all about???

The chart shows the 5 different swells which will be present this weekend.
Each swell is color coded and the chart itself shows you the expected height of each swell.
The color coded text below shows you the predicted period (top number) and direction in degrees (bottom number)
As a rule of thumb, 270 deg is a direct West swell.
     - As the number increases, the swell becomes more northerly
     - As the number decreases, the swell becomes more southerly

Here's today's update:

So the reported swell prediction is just a composite of these individual swells?

The swell height is pretty straightforward although the size of the actual waves the swell produces depends on the beach it is breaking on.
The "period" is the distance between swells. Generally, the larger the number, the farther away the waves are coming from. These are "long period" or "groundswells"; usually long period swells produce the largest and cleanly defined waves. These swells are what surfers pray for. A short period swell is more locally generated, the waves are very close together. Many times the weather that generates this type of swell arrives at the same time as the waves making a choppy, windy mess.
The swell direction is important as well. If the direction of the swell is not headed directly at the beach you are concerned with, the swell will pass by. You can have multiple swells from different directions, only one will hit your beach.

Also, I have it on reliable sources that the fishing at Drano Lake is not that hot right now.

You could jig.

Or troll for kokanee.  Supposed a good population of those in Cle Elum, but on the stunted side I hear.
