Gonna hit depoe bay sunday morning.  Late notice, but if anyone is in the area, I will be putting in around 6:30 or 7:00 am.  Weather dosent look very good, but its the only day I'll get a chance this week.

I wish I could go too.  Maybe you can get a pic heading out and coming in, so we get a "birds eye" view?
Be careful out there and catch a monster!

Don't think so.  The bar was closed - darn it.  Always call first.  DB is frequently closed.

Just called the DB Coasties (541-765-2124) and they'll be opening it up in another hour or so.  We're going out then and possibly tomorrow morning too.  Winds are dying down and there's no white caps.

For anyone in the area and interested the DB bar is open, it's a beautiful day and, once we get these limits of razors cleaned up we're headed out for some 4' lings.

Today's the day.  Come join us.

Took me a bit to find the time to post but,  yep DP was closed.  I dident feel like waiting around so i headed down to Beverly instead.  Fishing was tough with the wind, squeeked out one 25" ling two little cabs and two blacks.  They were hitting I just wasent able to stay over the rocks long enough to pick up many.  Heading back in was a little interesting though.  What the heck its been a little bit since i went for a swim in the warm oregon waters anyway.  Someones gonna have to show me how to keep a yak pointed in right direction in the waves when theyre that big!

Crazy: Good for you for giving it a shot. Can't be too disappointed with the ling and the blacks. Any photos?

No pics,  I think I'll start takeing the camera though.  I worry about getting it wet, or dropping it in the melay with the fish.  Any good suggestions on waterproof?

There have been a number of threads discussing the cameras out there. In fact, I just posted one about video cameras. Olympus and Pentax seem to make the ones most have experience with.

Mine (not waterproof) is kept in a small, dry box lashed to the deck in front of me.

For fish I'm taking home, I just take pics on the beach. For CnR, I just hope I get a photo without getting the camera wet and before the fish decides to flop back in the water.

crazyhammer, was that you in a white yak?  Did you put in at Moolack and head up to Otter Rock?  I saw you from the living room.

And, who do I keep seeing in Newberg with a yak on top of their Subaru?

Cool, I'll honk next time!  I'm usually in a grey/silver/rust Dodge D250.  Now that it's summer I'm on a 89 blue Harley Sportster.
