Partridge Point, West Whidbey Island

The main problem with Partridge is the big time exposure. Both from the S and the NW. There's reasonable access at Fort Ebey State Park; a carry of about 30-40yds; slight grade, maybe 10' from lot to beach. It IS used as a surf beach,  (I've seen it) so that should tell you something. I think it would be okay on the right day, I just haven't been there for it. It's then at least 2 miles to the bank. Less distance than going out to the end of Dungeness, but at Dungeness you can sprint a short distance to the spit, for a safe escape.

There's more access (Ebey's Landing) off a side road between Fort Ebey and Fort Casey. I've wondered about doing a long ebbtide drift from Casey to Ebey. If the winds were (gently) from the S, it would be fun. If the winds came up from the NW, it could be nasty. Might be a good one in salmon season.
