I have been trying to figure out where to mount my Rod holder.. was thinking since i am short legged and short armed. that i would put it in the foot well its out of paddleing area but still close enough for me to reach it and its not blocking the FF. heres a pick of it just sitting in the location i was thinking its not mounted yet.

Looking for thoughts, comments and opionions please.

Looks like it may work.  Be sure to put your pole handle in the holder and make sure it has sufficient clearance with everything.   I'm thinking it may interfere with the rod pod lid, or the left side of the well it's in.

You can also pick up mount extenders so you can put the boat mount out of the way, yet have the rod holder more conveniently placed.  Kind of like a commercial version of FTTW's budget camera mount.

Just my .02 but I think it may be a little in the way. A recent popular mounting point for rod holders in  the tridents has been right in front of the RP. It looks like a nice solution. Check the pics below.

Zee... nice i have thought of that to.... mines not a flush mount.and i have been playing with it to see if it would block the FF.  i was thinking right up by my arm too. just at the start of where the rails are for the foot pegs but i am thinking that its going to get in the way of the paddling.

Might want to pick up a round flush deck mount. Only $12 and puts the rod holder in a great location. RAM rod adapters (like in the pic) make it really versatile.

was thinking about this thread today while doing a anchor trolley on a T13. took a hard look at the gap between the north end of the rod pod and the south end of the sonar shield, with both closed. seems to me there is a bit of difference in the size of the gaps between the two on the T13's vs. the T15's. [ :idea1: "funny, i didnt think the gap was that small on my trident"] will have to look closer at this soon. for sure, a full sized square or rectangular base wont fit there, cause i tried that once already in a dry run.

before i go re-inventing trident dimensions, has anyone else noticed this and taken measurements?
