Well I made my first trip out in the big pond today. Headed out about 9am, fished to the south out by the first buoy. Caught 1 keeper ling (24"), 5 underlings, & 3 black bass. Yak worked great, felt real safe. Back in around noon, bladder full. When I was driving back to Lincoln City I looked to the north of DPB and someone in yak was coming back. Could it be someone else from NWKA? If so maybe we can get together for a trip. I have Tues & Wed off.
Dave

not bad for a few hours fishing... how far is that first buoy? I know it looks like a ways out there, but hard to judge distance like that from the bridge.

Way to make it a reality!  And (if you can believe it) it only gets better.  ;D
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Good fishing and good picture.  I've always thought DP was a good option with that boat ramp so close to the big blue.  Happy eating.

This just in.....

3 limit (for 3) of good sized blacks in 29 minutes between the entrance and the first can.  Line up on the brown houses to the north and south.  Fish are packed with krill (which my beta loves!).

Too bad I was in a PB as we caught some nice sized fish.  No lings though.  It was a litter rougher that the old timer liked and we were in a skiff.  First bouy is not that far out and an easy paddle (still inside the bay).

I may go tomorrow in the yak but my usual buddy is working.  Anyone else up for it?
