Polepole,
That would be GREAT to show up in Moutcha Bay with a stylin' new NWKA ball cap.  Given a preference, I like off white the best, but hey, whatever!  Or a baseball shirt!  I like those really well too.  Just try to keep the price under about $20 for the cap and maybe $25 for a shirt.

90# was all there airline would allow me to take as "luggage" other wise it wouldgo as cargo and they would have lost it for sure. (they lost my cooler, really didn't put it on my flight so I didin't get it until the next morning. But they kept it in a freezer for me) Ill take as much as I can. Should I bring the big 160 qt cooler?

Floatin,

Well, the old Trooper has a lot more room in it than the wifes Jeep Liberty but it IS finite.  Let me check the B.C. regs and see if fillets are going to be legal to transport.  If they are, then we should need a lot less ice chest room.  I have to admit, it would be really cool to bring home 8 whole kings to show the wife and kids.  That will be 2 limits for you and 2 for me.  That's all that you'll be legally allowed to transport.  A limit is 4 salmon a day, only 2 can be kings, and then you can transport 2 limits apiece.

But then where am I going to ditch all of those heads?  :o   Yeah, yeah, we should be so lucky.  ::)

;D  ;D  ;D  ;D Ok Snag, you got us all pumped!  Just wait til I get my SP, pllllleeeaaaasssseeee come soon I can't wait much longer...and guys, make that 4 guys, because I'm signing up for that derby in Moutcha!  Yeah, that and also Tofino Long Beach too so, Snag, man you gonna see me pretty regularly from here on...

Fishin-T, if you decide to chuck that salmon head, hang on to it and give em to me as I love to use it for crab traps.  Hey, now that's an idea eh???  Cdn. eh???  They're usually use for crab traps or you can make excellent soup out of them.
The only down side to crabbing with Salmon head is the Seal loves to take your traps with them, so, most Asian folks use chicken bones, seals hate them but crabs do love em as there's more meat! ;D  ;D  ;D

Thanks for the heads up Polepole!  Piscolabis sure knows alot about it, maybe we should get in touch with him for the prep.

Heyy Cowboy!  ;D

I haven't been to Moutcha Bay yet.  The farthest I've been is Campbell River (about 2hrs away from Moutcha).  Judging from Tofino Long Beach on the West side, in summer, it can get pretty warm - up to 25 Celsius.  However, having said that, it's always a good idea to bring warm clothes because wind do pick up.  Sometimes there's the occasional rain.  At night, it does get chilly a drop down to 3-5 Celsius.  "Snag" you're welcome to correct me if I'm wrong here bro...

The Pacific Ocean has a Nasty name - they call it the "Graveyard of the Pacific," winds, currents, weather...they do effect the areas.  Have I got you shaking yet?  :D ;)

If you really want to know the technical part, here is the link as it has forecast in advance as well:

Offcourse, you can also contact the Tourist office directly as they are more well verse in the area:

Hope that helps.

Hello All from ncka region 8)
I am working on tring to make this tourney, still have a few snags, like can't strap my kayak to the plane. Will be stealing my moms new 4-door ford truck and my brother's fishing gear so I have that under control. I've seen the post by Fish-T about cost and such. Just wondering if By arriving 31st, leaving in the morning of the 1st from Orting: would I make it to where you all are, can I buy my license @ the event, can anybody loan me a kayak, anybody want to carpool leaving on the 1st, will I most likly get lost in Victoria? ??? Did I forget anything?
Waiting for info before buying ticket and sacking work....DANGLIN

Orting...where the fox that  ???  ;D  JUST KIDDING Danglin. See what the fella's can do on that side but if you can make to Victoria I can squeeze one more into my truck but won't have room for another yak as VP and I will probably have both our yaks on my rak. Hopefully someone will have an extra yak that you can use. Worst case, you might be able to rent one up there.

We should be able to figure something out.

BTW welcome to the site.

Cheers,
Sean

DANGLIN,

Welcome to NWKA!

I got you covered on a kayak if we can figure out how to do the transfer.  I'll be around when you get into Seattle, but won't be here on your way back through.

So ... tell the guys a little about yourself.  I already know WHO you are from the NCKA board and some of the exchanges we have had.

Okay... I've spoken to Floatin Cowboys off board and he apparently will need to honor a promise to take the wife and kids to Silverwood that weekend.  In the mean time, Polepole has directed a Mr. Don Anglin to my e-mail and we've worked out a mutually beneficial arrangement to car pool once he reaches Seattle airport.  At this time I have a tent site reserved and Snag-a-but has the one right next to it.  V.P. will be sharing the one with Snag and Don (aka Danglin) will share mine, but if ANYbody else is thinking of making this one then for sure we can squeeze another tent or two onto those sites.  You guys that are still on the fence, get with it and start chatting up some possibilities and I'll bet we can pull together some more rides and such.

Well, Don's sure stoked for this one by his e-mails and I know I am too, so it looks like the team to beat this time will be... are you ready for this?   The team to beat:   ;D  "Fishin-T and Aglin-D."   ;D   :D   :D   Hey!!  I'm not makin' this stuff up guys!  I just call 'em as I see 'em.  ::)
