Is there a better place than Outdoorplay.com to buy a kayak right now?  Free shipping and no tax are nice perks.

I don't know about "better".  I got great service and prices from Austin Canoe and Kayak on my T13 and accessories.  I've also bought a boatload of stuff from Outdoorplay and gotten excellent service there.

Great suggestion.  At the time I got my boat I didn't know about Johnson Outdoors in Ferndale or I would have checked them out first.

If you want the best deal...Go to OK in Ferndale on Grandview Ave...You can demo kayaks at Birch Bay and when you buy a kayak they deduct the rental fee from the price of your kayak... Great people..Great prices .. They will set you up with what you need...It's worth the trip from Seattle just to paddle in the warm waters of Birch Bay and pay half price at the OK factory ;D

I was just there yesterday (18th) and asked about any planned sales events.  I was told that the "clearance" sales have been completed, but that there are some blemish kayaks available at a reduced rate.

Ah yes, they usually have a few blems available.  They don't advertise this as a "sale", but it's always worth a a call up there to see what they have.  Blems are cosmetic only in nature ... an example might be the logo got messed up, or there is a rough looking spot on the surface somewhere.  But no holes in the yaks.   ;)

What are the relationships between Ocean Kayak, Humminbird, and Johnson Outdoors?  In communicating with these vendors it seems they are closely related in some way.

Welcome!

If you are interested.....

In Portland, I've got WS Tarpons, OK Trident 15's etc you can demo. I also have my personal almost new T-15 angler for sale at the shop. Could go to $900 on that one.

Because one is in Alaska and the other was camping when this came up.  I must have missed it when I tried to catch up on Monday.

Thanks Zee.

Being in the kayak fishing neighborhood you get to know things. I'm sure the OK boyz know a thing or two about other kayak manfs too.
