Here you go Polepole.

First of several to come.

Measured 43" Tip of Nose to Fork of Tail...  Estimated at 50 lbs, plus or minus...  Released alive and relatively unharmed.

Yes they are....    The variety we have here is astounding..  On that day alone, I caught 4 seperate species, and could have easily caught 5 or 6 other species...

Pound for pound, they fight greater than most fish, and will definately give you a sleigh ride.

Going out again this weekend, after replaceing 250 yards of braid I lost last weekend to a huge fish, (When the knot to my backing gave).  I downgraded from 50 lb Braid to 30 lb Braid...   Need to make sure my drag is set right...

This Dusky Shark could not be kept legally at all, they are protected from harvest.

The Spinner Shark I caught the same day, was too small to legally keep..  They have to be 54" Fork Length to keep....  This one was 13" too short!

I did keep an Atlantic Sharpnose a couple of weeks ago, that was around 36" long.  The state record for them is just over 13 lbs, so they do not have the same size limit.

The secret with sharks is to bleed them IMMEDIATELY and clean them and place on ice (Not in Ice, but on it) immediately...  DO not let them soak in the water.
