I'm off from work this comming Friday the 19th, considering Pacific City if conditions remain favorable. I have a feeling things could be a dory boat zoo after salmon season opens on saturday.

Keep an eye on the conditions.  Looks like a 5 ft W Swell hits tomorrow with a 3 ft SW Swell to mix things up.

I wouldn't let a few 'facts' get in my way of having a good time!!! If it isn't decent for fishing, maybe spend the time practicing surf launch and recovery. Buckle up campers...

Or hit the estuary at Whalen Island, and see if there are any flounder available.

The forecast dose seem to be changing, with the big stuff coming in earlier. This may end up being a game day decision on going out or not. Whalen island, fly fishing inland, or a cutting/drilling day are backup plans.

My scheduled day off didn't seem to align with favorable ocean conditions, so I ended up staying in Portland. Still focusing on saltwater fishing here at home. Learned to tie a couple new fishing knots, with my coffee, this morning. Adding some new Scotty accessories and a safety flag mast to the milk crate are on tap for later.

I just got back from the OR coast and you made a good call. Yesterday was pretty nice but it got ugly overnight.
