Hit the beach in Oceanside at about 5:30.  Surf was up!  Some big sets rolling though and I thought about calling it but, what the heck.. so I worked my way out though the breakers.  Once though the surf the swells were big but no wind waves. Got out past the last rock and the depthfinder went black with rock fish.  Had my 6 blacks in minutes, 2 doubles and a triple.  Headed out to prospect for lings, tossed back a couple tiny lings and one 23" found one nice AOTY upgrade Cab and called it a day early,  back on the beach (I totally yardsaled it when I miss timed a big swell ::)) by about 10:30.

I do share my catch with my family for sure. I've got a 97 year old grandma that loves lingcod for breakfast ;D.  My wife and I only eat fish for our source of protein (no beef, chicken, etc etc) so we really go though the fish, often 3-4 times a week.  I just put 25lbs of vac sealed filets in the freezer.. not bad for 2 days of fishing ;D

Excellent work there PP. Nice report. Looks like a beautiful day and you hammered them blacks. And fattie cabbie! :o So, if you got double or triples does that mean you have a few teasers on your rig? Shrimp flies? And nice work on the launch. I really miss working through surf to go fish. Just so much fun launching and landing.
