I have room on my Toyota rack to carry 2 easy, and 3 if we are creative.  Also the bed is wide open for gear.

I'll be coming down Friday evening and checking in at Beverly Beach (A1) so I don't have to come back down early Saturday before fishing.  On Saturday morning, if anyone wants to meet me up on the highway where there should be ample parking we can put your yak up on my rack and carpool down to the launch.  If anyone plans to launch from a different location than Depoe Bay harbor, post it up.

As for the burner, I have a free standing burner like Jay posted, and a the turkey fryer pot.  I can bring that down with me on Friday evening and leave it there till it's needed on Saturday.  I'll supply the big LP tank with it, if someone else supplies and deals with the oil before and after the feast.

Craig, How much oil does it hold?

Alot!   ;D

Not sure exactly.  It's been years since I have actually used it to fry anything.  I use it mostly to steam crab and clams.

Several gallons easy.  Website says 30 quarts.  I doubt we need to fill it.  :o

I have another free standing burner with the grill/smoker all-in-one stuff as well.  I don't have a fryer vessel, but I do have a huge saute pan that I'll bring down.

I drive '87 Toyota 4x4 but have a large rack on it.  I can haul another 'yak on the rack, maybe hang a few out of the short bed if it's a short no highway trip to the launch.  We'll be in site A3.

It's about 6 or so miles from Beverly Beach to Depoe Bay - uphill with twisty turny roads, speed limit is between 25 and 55.

I'll bring extra straps just in case.  Never really know until the time arrives, anyhow.

Just got back from a day of scouting/fishing in the depoe area.  Fishing was good and there are definitely some lings around ;D.. Foggy but doable, surf was up on unprotected beaches but depoe and my other launch was calmish.  Checked out the Beverly Beach camp sites (nice treed area with easy access to the water, forgot to look for an electric outlet for CBY).  Found two prime launch sites and put some numbers in the gps for some great structure that hopefully continues to hold lings come September.  Should be interesting this year could be anyones game ;D

Are those in Depoe Bay State Park?

FYI: For the tournament, since Depoe Bay is the location, that's where we all need to launch. After you've launched you're free to paddle wherever you want.

Are you saying everyone needs to launch out of Depoe Bay harbor?

I'm not super familiar with the spot but yes, I'd like everyone to launch from the same area. Let's keep it nice and simple.

You are aware harbor is not where the camp ground  (beverly beach) is.. harbor is about 6 miles north.  I went out of Depoe today (and another surf launch north of there) with no trouble and it was fairly busy with PB traffic, radioed for clearance and slipped out quickly along the north wall, had great vis all the way through the hole, no way a pb could have "snuck up" on me.  Could hardly tell the difference between the  bay and the ocean.  The surf at Beverly beach was big but at depoe it was cake.. read no surf etc..

So just to clarify, so everyone is on the same page.. You want everyone to launch using the Depoe Bay harbor (boat ramp or other spots around the harbor) and enter the salt by paddling out under the 101 bridge. Correct?  Then return to Beverly Beach state park for weigh in at 3:00

We need to have someone up on the bridge taking photos if we are all launching from the bay at the same time.  That would be a pretty sweet pic.

I should have put this up on the front page but the fishing location is Depoe Bay. Thanks for clarifying PPaddler.

Yes, launch point will be the harbor. So everyone should go out and come in together. I'd actually like to hang out and do the weigh in's there as well. Let's make it the back of the black Honda CRV! (my ride)

You guys are making it really tough for me to sneak in another store-bought fish like last year.

I was planning on launching at 1st light.  Is that acceptable?

Lets hope so Spot.. I was planning on hitting it at first light too.  The comfort of a group launch is a great idea if some folks (newbies etc) feel they need it but I would really hate to slow the process down to the least common denominator for everyone.
