I am booked on Sundays but Monday is a real possiblity. I'm mad I wussed out based on a forecast last week.

Hey better safe than sorry. Especially when you have to drive an hour or so to the coast.

In NorCal they have an expression to describe abalone divers who have lost their lives because the ocean wasn't cooperating after a long drive to the coast and they went for it anyway.... "Sacramento Syndrome".  I'm hoping we never have to use the expression "Portland Syndrome" or maybe  "Portland Predicament" to describe one of us.

Yep, that would be me. Even if I'm looking at 7-8' seas and a 10-15 kt wind, I'd be tempted to fish. At the very least, I'd take the barge out and play in the surf.

If you were talking about Monday, don't beat yourself up.  It was mean dog nasty until about 6 pm.  Huge waves and big wind.  Not even fun/safe for surf play.  Today was another story ;D

Maybe saturday too.

If the conditions stay as forecasted I think I'm going to finally try hitting up the big blue  ;D.  Going to hit up somewhere in that general area on Saturday but maybe out of a bay for the first day or at least first half, as has been suggested before to get use to the waves and what not.

I have my drysuit, and sprayskirt and i'm ready to rock! heh... Not planning on bringing any fishing gear on Saturday, Sunday I'm planning on attempting surfs launches  and landings... I've been waiting for this since last June!

Hey better safe than sorry.

For sure. Just razzing him. Making the call sometimes just sucks. Could be good... could be a waste of gas. Never an easy one.

I'm coming in today (WED) and I'm hoping to get some use out of my Oregon outta state license and PP has me slipping some Gulp strip packs into my luggage (hope that Homeland Security approves and they don't leak :o ).
Now I ain't annoucing that I'm going fishing as that is a guaranteed sabot in the works, but.......

Sunday is just to far away to be much more than just a guess. Thursday and Friday look promising.

Whew, Now I feel better with my decision not to head to the coast Monday. I'm dying to get out there, but within my comfort and safety zones. Fly fishing was awsome!

Hopefully the conditions remain good for this coming Sunday. if so, I'm there!
