Well the pinks have been coming in a few at a time into the hoodcanal hatchery.  I have been checking on them everyother day to see when they increase the numbers.  I will be out in the yak at least one day this weekend to see if I can boat some.  I will let you guys know when they get hot.  it seems to be a smaller run but it also come earlier I think.  plus it is a easy paddle.

its manly a pick jig show,  although the buzz bombs and pink spinners take some also.  i am going to try some trolling pink mini squids with a coyote spoon for a flasher along the canal north of the hatchery but most of the time you just anchor and toss gear in 3-10 ft of water as they come in to the hatchery.  it is cool to see them coming in.

As soon as there are some #'s to report I'm game for sure. 3-10 ft sounds like a promising depth for the flyrod as well. Thanks for the report.

There are several guys that bank it with fly rods and do pretty good.

That's even better news. I am without a vehicle that can haul the yak for at least the next 2-3 weeks :(

I'd be great with that; thank you. I just sold my old Honda passport and bought a Subaru forester, but I have to wait on delivery >:~(

Well with "queen of kings" help I think I have the pic attached.  I was using my palm phone so it is not a award winner.  it was around 5 or six pounds and put up a good battle.  in all I saw something like 10 to 15 fish caught not that I saw them all I was busy.  you will need an anchor for sure no boats are not allowed to fish in the between the bouys and you have to get close to throw the little jigs in the right area when they get shallow.  I am sure you could troll some up I was using a herring dodger with a mini pink hootchie and an 8 once cannon ball weight seemed to work pretty good.  I am still trying to decide if I am going tomorrow or if I am going to stay home and build waf.   If any one is interested let me know (I live less than 20 minutes away from the hatchery) and I will at the minimum tell you about the two close spots to launch and park.  and where to fish at.
