Ok, so this is the best way I can figure how to do this.

I basically need to cover $700 to make the "Surf Zone Survival for Kayak Fisherman" class happen. 2 instructors x 10hrs, gas, insurance etc. and that's what it takes.

If your interested, reply to this thread. It would be nice to get it to 7 or 8 people to keep your individual cost reasonable.

When we hit the magic number we'll pic a date and hit the coast!

PM me if you have any questions,

Jason

Cool.  I was going to drop in tomorrow and ask about this and even the basics class just for giggles (and to have some technique coaching), but my work schedule changed.

I'm definitely down, but would have to be a wed/thursday.

Count me in if we can get the cost down to $100 or less a head.

Cheers,

I've got an idea to pass along to you.  You could connect with Steve at Skappoose Bay Kayaking (http://scappoosebaykayaking.com/) and ask when he's going to Ocean Shores and go along there and offer a class.  Nobody does that yet and he's showing kayaks and giving lessons on fresh, calm water on the Ocean Shores Duck Lake waterways...  But there's the entire Pacific to the west of Ocean Shores and if the rip gets too bad there, one can always go up the beach some five to ten miles and offer the class there.  I'd take it, and I'll bet some of my family would too.  I hope that I haven't wasted anyone's time with this blurb, but here we are on the Peninsula with hundreds of miles of coastline and nobody has yet figured out how to beat the surf locally.  I would love to.
