Looks like some of the South Sound crew will be getting together Thursday the 27 for some morning fishing at Browns Point. We're talking 6:30 am (and anytime after that you could make it). Open invitation to anyone who would like to show up and fish. Although I'm out of town this week and can't report at present, it's been fishing pretty good lately.

I'll be fishing Anderson Island the 24th and 25th but will be back to Browns Point on the 26th and can let you know what I see if that would encourage anyone to come and fish....

Chris,

I'm going to try & get the day off on the 27th, so I can join you guys.

I've been fishing the area for the past three Sundays, and have done well. I've been flyfishing from the kayak, with a bright pink over white "Shock and Awe" on a clear intermediate line. The Pinks are a lot of fun.

Great!  It'll be a good time.
If you ever get tired of the pink over white they hit green/chartreuse over white too. The way I figure it they have @ 7,568 chances to hit a pink lure/fly after entering Puget Sound. If they haven't been taken by the time they reach this far south maybe, just maybe, they are  looking for something else.   Chris

I hope not to jinx us, but this outing is looking quite promising. I was at BP Sun, and this morning wading with some friends. I landed two 24 inchers (one Sun, one today), and had several hookups. Lots of fish to be had. There were too many people around to cast the fly rod on both days, so I'm really looking forward to putting some of flytyer_396's handy work to good use off the yak this Thurs.

I drove down there at lunch today, and saw 4-5 fish caught in about 5 minutes. Hopefully they'll stick around.

I'll see you folks in the morning!

Tom B, ravdakot, squidgirl and I all made it out this morning. I for one had a great time on the water. We all caught fish, nobody went swimming and SG even has photos to prove the fish part. She will post them somewhere soon from what I hear.
Tom was into a fish on his third cast of the day,  and less than 5 mins after boating his first ever fly caught pink, ravdakot boated his second. His third wasn't far behind. Gotta tie some of those flys for myself....squidgirl took home a beauty of a flounder. Nice, nice, nice.
Great meeting and fishing with you all, I'm looking forward to doing it again!

Had fantastic morning on the water with you all. By far my most successful salmon trip to date. I ended up with 6 fish to hand, and two long distanced released fish. Took four home that have a Fri afternoon date with the smoker. Rudy, your flies are devastating. I gave one to Tom, and he had boated two fish on it before I released my fourth fish into the cooler. He stayed on the water after I left. I am really curious to know how he finished up. We will surely have to do this, or something similar again.

Great day on the water! I released one more fish after Ravdakot left, then our spot went dead. I paddled back around the point and fished for a while, with no action, and was off the water at 2:00. One of the Pinkies is just about to be BBQ'd!

Radakot's fly was hot! Thanks!

I really enjoyed meeting everyone, and look forward to more South Sound adventures.

I'm glad they worked out for you.   :D  If your birthday wish for a new vise gets filled this weekend, you should be able to tie more before this year's run if over.  They are any easy tie, even for beginners.  Catching something that you made seems to enhances the fishing experience. If not, and you need more, let me know.  I can tie more for you.  Same arrangements.   :D  If they are the pattern Polepole suggested, I've switched from Fishhair to Unique Hair.  It is a thinner material with a slight crinkle.  Gives the flies more bulk without a lot of weight.

Have a Happy Birthday Sunday.
