Hi, I'm new to this whole thing.  I just brought home a new Hobie Outback and love it.  I have been reading a lot of the older stuff and have learned a lot already.  This site is unbelievably helpful.  I'm just scared to start drilling holes and mounting things.  I'm a contractor by trade and hate things on the weak side.

So this being said, I want mount my rod holder next to the front right pole holder already there.  The guy I bought the yak from said to just screw it in to the side wall with screws and it would hold.  What about drag when trolling?  What about that huge fish yanking on it?  Couldn't it just get ripped off the yak?  I only want to do this once.  Am I trying to over do it?

I thought about backing it out with a piece 2x4, but I can't reach back there from the hatch.  Hoping someone has already found this fix and sure would like some info.

Thanks,
Jason
