Well,
It ain't as good a being a line in a B-movie, but I'll take it. ::)
So what is this "wali" and why do you want to avoid it?
Glad I asked! ;D

A wali is defined as the rookie maneuver (often performed by masters) of turning around while seated in the paddling position on an SOT to get something out of the tankwell, rear hatch, back forty,,, or whatever is behind you.

 This causes your center of mass to exceed your base and combined with the pull of a fish, rogue wave, tiny ripple or slight breeze, results in an unintended hull bottom inspection and swim (you fall out of the boat because you leaned too far over when you turned around).

So what to do? Don't do that.

Sitting side saddle with your legs in the water is probably the most stable position and least likely to cause you to wali. It's almost hard to fall in. Alternatively, you can also stick the foot on the opposite side from your twist in the water as a counter balance. But it isn't anywhere near as stable as sitting side saddle.

What's that you say? You don't want to get your foot wet?
Then your not dressed right. :nono:
