Sealions,,, Usually get along fine with them,, my space, your space thing..
This one was probably one of our X welfare  locals.. Fish cleaning in the summer has created a easy food source at the docks, especially during tuna season.. The port has stopped that as it was causing problems . The critters got used to it and came to expect a free lunch..
This old bull really thought  i should share my catch, they always scare me when they  come up behind the yak and blow or snort when i don't know they are there!
I put the fish in the cooler, He hung around, stayed close,REALLY close, under yak, up 3 ft from my side. after a while he left but got me thinking  it would not take much of a love nudge to launch me..  Dress for immersion !!

Love nudge!
I can handle risk of death from icy seas, but wow am I worried about going with Farmer John's (looking more like a sea lion).  Going to to limit my carbs starting right now!

I'm setting here in my new T3 Kokatat Angler..To say i was impressed with the suit would be a understatement.. Entry was easy first time, that was my #1 concern due to wooden leg, plastic foot  ect. I have on a cotton tee shirt ,heavy Carhart pants, very comfy. I expected it to be way hot and sweaty, been 30 min. in the house and no hot, sweaty feeling, With proper under layering it will be wonderfull... The neck is fine after i got it adjusted and used to it. Have the XL size the L might have worked but this is fine, made in USA sizes i guess, used to things being two sizes to small when mail ordering...
The build is stronger than i expected, Can't wait to get it wet!
Nanook's report on wearing it hiking and long periods of time was what i was looking to hear, and if Demonick like it  ;D

Despite not being a large guy I went with a Large although the Medium actually fit better over jeans and a light shirt when I tried it on at REI.  I am glad I did.  First, insulating under garments are bulky, and second, one is generally sitting not standing which tightens the fit.

I've been busy and itching to get out and drop some crab pots and try for chum.  Maybe this weekend though the wind forecast is not favorable.

Good point on sizing,, Weather here is gnarly to,,gusts to 60kt and 25 ft swell with 8 ft chop on top,,, That should stir up some crab feed !!

 Fri Night
SW wind 15 to 25 kt. Occasional gusts up to 35 kt after midnight. Wind waves 4 to 5 ft...building to 7 to 8 ft after midnight. Swell NW 26 to 27 ft. Showers.

Will my neck seal leak  fri. nite  ??

Dang, I'm thimkin of mooring my yak to my chimney for the duration, just in case! Maybe I should load up some rations, and prepare to don my wetsuit once the buoy readings exceed 24 feet. I dug my razor clams yesterday under sunny skies with light offshore breezes, and with only 2' to 3' surf. That's history, now.

Good to hear the positive initial suit review, RevoRoy!

Wow. There's a dude on his way from PDX to Anchorage right now via kayak. If he lives, he should write a book.

I'm not sure if he's crazy or suicidal, and I wouldn't call him experienced. Should be interesting.

Good to hear. I think the neo-neck helps vent a little heat too. It seems better regulated than me g-tex dry suit.
