I know it is just a projected forecast- I can't even begin to imagine what that shorebreak would look like.

28ft breaking wave?  Pretty pedestrian for an el-nino year.

Just wait till the forecasts ring in with 30'-35' Swell at 20sec!  You know it's a big swell when people are surfing east of Astoria......

That was a doozy today.  The storm that rolled through on Thursday evening really pounded the coast range.  DTS and I put 43 miles on our ATV's up there today and found all kinds of down trees and an interesting pile of hail that could easily fill a 5 gallon bucket. It was just resting in a trench out of the view of the sun.

Actually looks doable if you were touring and trying to get out. Surf looks crappy though.

always looks doable from 1/4 mile away and 100 ft up! every step closer to the beach gets more intimidating!

you might wanna look into one of your namesakes just in case, there, SPOT. playing in stuff like that could lead ya to needing the orange and whites... which is still better than the 6 man shuffle..

No worries Richard, when the swells are that big, they sometimes create perfect little waves inside the major rivermouths.  One place in particular does a great imitation of Waikiki beach on a 2 foot groudswell when the outside buoys are rockin' 25' to 30'.  Even those nasty South winds are put to good use there.  When it's 30' to 40' on the outside, you can get barrelled off your @$$ in fresh water.  I've actually broken a board in those conditions.   ;D

It was all mute yesterday though.  INSAYNE offered his skills and tools in the manufacture of a drift anchor arm for my T11 and I chose that over surf.  BTW:  INSAYNE has some INSANE metal skills!!!!  I'll post some pictures of it soon.  Thanks again Craig!!!!
