Very cool. Thanks for the post. Kinda makes you think Spot is that much more hardcore for fishing that area.  >:D

Lol!  T'aint no thang..... When the conditions are good.

Snuck out of camp Saturday at dawn.  No wind, just past peak high.  Dropped a crab pot and trolled the neck of the funnel they refer to in the article.  No bites on the spinner but less than two hours later I was loading a full limit (12) of HUGE crab into my car.  :o  What a beautiful place when she's in the mood!  Our yurting neighbors were ecstatic when I offered to feed them all fresh crab for lunch.  ;D

Funny you mention that.  As I was setting up my gear near the base of the south jetty on Saturday I saw a curious sight.  What looked like a submarine with an enormous satellite dome immediately in front of its conning tower was being escorted across the bar and into the river by two tug boats decorated like Christmas ships.  Immediately ahead and behind were small patrol boats with blue flashing lights. The front patrol boat was running in erratic patterns like a hunting dog trying to find a scent.  As they moved closer, the tug boat in back became clearer and took on the appearance of a heavily armed gunship (though with Christmas lights).
Granted, it was dark and I was still pretty sleepy at this point but it definitely wasn't your standard commercial traffic coming in that morning.

Y'all aren't nearly as funny as you think you are.... :disgust:

Strange, two guys in black suits just showed up here asking for me.  Luckily the receptionist likes me and claimed I don't work here anymore.  Even stranger, One of them looked exactly like Ron (Pelagic) and the other was a dead ringer for Brian (EOBasser)....

Man, here I was thinking I was posting a neat read on the forces shaping a waterway, and suddenly Spot Spotting a submersible Mind Control Laser platform becomes the topic.

I thought everyone knew about those.
