Wish I could have made it down last week.  I really wanted to get some advice on my first SOT.  Anyways, I'm gonna try for January if there's a meet-up planned.  Sounds like a lot of people bring stuff to share or for show and tell.  I don't have a lot since I'm so new to this, but I just realized that us fishermen use a lot of nitrile/latex gloves.  I can get a pretty good deal on boxes, about $8.  So if anyone wants to do a pre-order before the next meeting, I'd be happy to oblige. Just let me know your size and if there's a certain kind you want, and I'll see what I can do.  Anything from www.fishersci.com  I'll be in La Paz all next week, so will reply when I return.

I usually get these:

The pseudo-official date for our meetings is the second Thursday of each month.  So in January we're looking at 14th.  As for the location, we'll have to figure that out.

Are you going to order some?  If so, at that price, I would take two boxes.
Thanks,

If any of you PDX fishers need some closed cell foam for transducer installations or the like, let me know before the next meeting.  I have sheet of 2.5" or 3" thick closed cell foam I'd be happy to share.  Just let me know how much you'll need and I'll plan on bringing it to the next meeting.

Have we decided on a location for this month's meeting?  Let's here some ideas.

I'll donate a $50 gift card I have for Kells Irish Pub if people don't mind coming downtown.  That should cover us for 10 minutes or so.

I'm a fan of Pietro's. It seems to have worked out great so far. Plenty of seating, decent food & brew. I'm not too familiar with the Portland area so I don't really know of other options but I'm ok with that place again.

Only other place I know of for groups, with decent parking, is Lucky Lab... Either on SE Hawthorne or NE. The SW location has crap for parking

That place looks sweet, I'd be up for that.

Lucky Lab is good for me as well.  But then again, so is Kell's or Pietro's.  Lucky Lab does have plentiful parking, though.

Dang, no takers on Kells?  Don't worry DC, I'll help you burn thru that gift card.   :)

Only problem I have with Kells is wondering if someone's gonna end up shooting a hole into my yak.
