Koboabe, Stevehawk and I met up at the dock around 3 and started trolling.  After a quick lesson on rigging we kept on trolling.  We headed up past the Marquam bridge and I hooked up in front of the Sub.  It was wild so I let her go.  We then trolled towards the Ross Island Bridge and I got a second hit.  This fish was coming home.  We trolled around a bit more but we got no more fish love.  I was hoping Koboabe and Stevehawk would hook up but it wasn't to be.
It was great meeting you guys and I hope you had fun out there.
Also, if anyone wants to hit up a bar tomorrow night I am down.

Ndogg did indeed show us how to fish.  Hooking up two of them while we watched. What does one say but "Well done". Sure was sweet to get on the water today.

It's official, there's a new Springer Master in the house.
Long live the new king!

So, what was the winning recipe?

Seemed to be #4 Colorado blades at 13 pulls or so. oddly most of the hits were in the middle of the channel.
Nodgg showed us that not only are there fish in the Willamette, but they can be caught... now I just need to find time to get back out there.

was a great day on the water, sadly I forgot my camera, but looks like we got a few good pics.
even got a chance to meet gon-fishin as I was pulling my yak out of the water (thanks again for your help with my boat... that was embarrassing)
on a side note, hauling a yak in a small ford ranger truck is horrible.
I cant wait until i have my car with racks back from the shop.

I'd like to make the trip up and elbow in on you guys on Sunday Morning. I'm dropping the Mrs off for a Mothers Day treat at the dayspa while I go fishin'!

I will have to pass on Sunday. Will be chasing turkeys around in Eastern Oregon.  I will be  going on Monday or Tuesday of next week.  I will be trying out ndogg's set up. Might be able to catch one this time.

Is there still a PDX crew Monthly Meet ups?  Very eager to learn!
Hopefully some day I get back into Kayak fishing, for now.  Gotta focus on Life.

We tend to take the summer off from the monthly meetings (too much fishing to be done.)  I'm sure we'll start again soon as we head into shorter, wetter days.

You might also be interested in the kayak fishing 101 seminars at Next Adventure.  I'm not sure when the next one will be held, but they seem to come along every couple months or so.

Been to the 101 lecture, will attend the next one to get some idea of how, what fish finder to get.   I'm interested in going out and seeing how others are fishing from a Kayak.   Thanks for responding, if anyone is going out next weekend, preferably the 15th or 16th, I would love to tag along and learn.  I have my own Kayak and will have my gears by then.  I'm into bass fishing, for now.

Post an open invite for the date/area you wanna fish.  you can usually find someone to fish with and you'll learn a lot more of what you need to know when you have a rod in your hand.

Does everybody have PTA meetings or are we looking to have a meet-up Thursday?

If there is enough interest, I'd kind of like to check out Blitz on 99w, but anywhere is cool by me.

Can't do this Thursday, but now that the weather is getting a bit colder and wetter we should start these up again.
Craig, it was not lack of skills you showed yesterday but a willingness to use over sized hooks in order to target monster fish while forgoing all the smaller fish.

I can make it if it's around 6:00pm.  Would be great to meet people. I'm anxious to get out into the water, especially the coast for rock fishing.
