I just purchased the "Cuda 250 FF" Hooked it up to my Black & Decker 14.4V Cordless Drill Battery with a in line 3 amp fuse... It works, I will be playing with the features while sitting on my rocker recliner for the next few days!
But I'm not sure how I'm going to mount the unit under my OK T-13A's sonar shield?

I'm considering mounting the transducer in the hull with a foam puck cutout to the size if the transducer and goop it in.

Why would you mount the transducer inside the hull when the T13A provides a built in scupper mount?

If your eyes are still young and your arms are long, under the Sonar Shield could work for you.  Otherwise you might consider mounting the FF on an extension arm as shown in the photo.

I’m slightly worried (perhaps paranoid) about banging into the mount.
I’m 6”-1” and I’m worried (paranoid?) that it’s going to just be in the way for me.
I also heard that I might prefer ample drainage during a surf launch, which I hope to be doing this summer after I get my confidence up and perhaps take a class at Alder Creek.
I don’t think I’ll be using the water temp feature so much; I’ll just stick my finger in the water to get that! (Just kidding) I think that depth and structure will be my main focus.
I can change over to the scupper hole if it doesn’t work for me, due to the fact that the foam pad goop on style is not a permanent fixture. Dose anyone know if the stock transducer for the Eagle 250 will fit the scupper hole in the OK T-13A?
Need to spend more time on the water to dial it all in.

Can someone show a picture of your transducer in the foam puck? A visual would be helpful.
Thanks, Dan

1st image is a pic of how the puck is installed in my yak.  The ducer is simply pushed into the cut out after the goop has cured.

2nd image is of how FFTW friction mounted his (dry)

3rd image is of Zee's gooped puck with transducer in place.

Not as easy as the Humminbird unit does.  You might be able to get a Lowrance/Eagle ice fishing puck to work.

I have yet to bother with the water temp feature on my Cuda, so having the puck inside the hull out of the way of the scupper hole, and out of getting banged up is a better option in my yak.  I could always just pull my puck out of the hull and plop it over the side to get a water temp.

Demonick - That arm that you have your rod in, would that be compatable with a scotty gimbal mount?

I don't think so - not directly.  The arm is just an arm that accepts a 1.5" ball on either end.  For more details see:  http://www.demonick.com/kayak/FF.GPS/mount.html
