SwiftDraw - I have the square one similar to the video on this site, but I am sure the octagon shape would do.

Thanks I'm keeping an eye out for one.

Good luck Sunday!
Look forward to your post.
I'll be tooling around Lacamas Lake playing around with my Eagle 250 FF. I'm testing it out for the first time, hope my setup works.

I think I have everything for crabbing, except weights for pots.
For bait I got chicken drum sticks and someone told me that cat food in cans is good, so I have one of those. Since this is my first kayaking, I'll be there little earlier practicing.

In a pinch beach rocks for weights.

I've tried canned cat food.  It works, but you need to retrieve a stinky, rank, cat food can on your boat for disposal on land.  Stick to chicken legs that you can just ditch overboard.

I tried the cat food today and there was nothing in the pot when I pulled it out. Second pot with chicken drumsticks gave me the day limit plus 5 more smaller crabs I released.
Great day on the water, it was my first time on kayak and on my new Adventure and I love it.
The only thing I didn't like, was the seat, it kept sliding out of the holes, is there any fix for that?
Thanks to Fishing-T and Drool for keeping me company and for help.
I'll be back soon
Frank

It's a little bit of walking from the parking lot, there's a bridge over rail road track and some logs on the beach you have to get over. The beach is rocky and pretty flat.

SwiftDraw -  don't rely on me for pot selection...  I was out all day and brought in 1 crab.  Caught 4 flounders but left 2 to grow bigger for next year.

BTW...   525'r,  you had square pots...  were they danielson's?

I find the best bait is fish carcasses. I'll usually keep the carcasses from a rockfish tripIn the freezer and it'll give me bait for the whole year. For the absolute best bait I like salmon carcasses. Match the hatch? ;)

As to the seat problem, you can try and wrap the seat posts with some duct tape. It's a questionable design and I wish Hobie would just make a normal one but their engineers have to try and re-invent everything.

And the traps I used in the video are Danielsons.

Thank 525.  Great job yesterday and I wish I would have pay more mind to how you did things.

Also, thanks Fishin-T for setting things up - hope you got out before closing.

Zee - I'll have to watch your video again and visit your link to NORCAL and give it another shot.
