As of right now I'm planning another outing Tue morn. The temps aren't bad, and it's supposed to be partly cloudy with 2-4 mph winds. The only thing I'm not liking are the tides. We will be paddling against the tide both ways. It's not an epic exchange that day, but respectable. Same launch at Luhr Beach. I'm putting my daughter on the bus that morning, so it will have to be an 8:45-9:00 launch for me. That may change to a 7:00 launch depending on the wifey. Also, my new compass will be installed by then, so no getting lost in a heavy fog  ::)

This is the one I picked up.

I had a 17% off promo for boaters world online, and it has already shipped.

I plan to head across the delta around DuPont, and North Fort in search of Chum. If the salmon aren't happening, or we get our fill of them it's off to flounder. They are everywhere around the delta, but I have been most successful off Anderson Island.

Hope to see some of you there.  ¿  <⁰(((><

Have you ever put in at the Ft. Lewis Point Solo boat launch?

I have had good luck for Salmon mooching hearing 100 yds off shore.

No, I'll have to keep that in mind though. I plan to mooch kings there this summer, and it will save a paddle across the delta. Most of our members won't be able launch from there, so Luhr Beach is the closest launch for group invites.

Thanks HD

Rav.... i think that since Point Solo is behind North Ft. Lewis and the road is public. i think we can get all the way down. i will have to check that out. i know that the divers dive back there too,.

As of right now count me in also for the paddle on tuesday.. well fishing to. but i seem to do more paddleing..

I went and looked on MSN Maps, and I think you are right. I'm going to stop on my way home in the morning just to make sure that the launch area isn't restricted to DOD personnel. This would be a much better launch site with the tides. Good call SG

More to come.

I have launched my power boat there many times. You can drive to the launch, but the MP's patrol the parking lot looking for DOD stickers.

If you vehicle does not have one, you get a citation. I have not been back since McChord did away with stickers, so the policy may have changed.

Hen/ Rav  if thats the case we could stop at the pass office at ft. lewis explain what we want to do and get a day pass.. i do it everytime i go to Northwest Adventures on North Ft. Lewis. all you need is proof of insurance and registration and drivers license.

I got the scoop on the launch. It's Like Hendog said; anyone can drive to it, but you need a DOD sticker to use it. So, the launch will be @ Luhr Beach. I'm getting word from some of my coworkers that salmon will be a bust due to the rain. According to them the only way I'll get a chum in the Nis this year would be well up stream. With that in mind, I'm thinking of just shooting across to Anderson Island for bottom fish and keeping the Salmon ear on standby just in case.

The wife is putting my daughter on the bus, so I'm launching @ 0700.

I will try to make it myself, that is if you don't mind a newbie with a 'sink'!
