Lee,

You most certainly do not.

Hagg Lake?  Well, time certainly has crept up on that, now hasn't it?  That old girl is gonna be put to pasture in a week or so.  I'm headed out for a long holiday week, and sort of let my plans override the Festival of Hagg.  But, nonetheless, we should get a kayak polo or otherwise silly event scheduled for early December.  Maybe Silver Lake in Washington?  I'd suggest Lacamas, but I don't wanna be responsible for any resulting skin maladies.  But, we can talk about it.  Anyway, sorry, but the vacation time gods have blessed me with extra time, so this rambler needs to mosey.

Dillon, you are one post away from experiencing the warm and fetid delights of the aforementioned Chum Bucket.  You seem like a nice boy, though, so maybe you should resist the urge to sniff around in there.

Sorry to hear, INSAYN.  I know it's your home turf.  You will have to find other Forest Grove-based amusement.  Just make sure they don't involve Pacific University sorority houses, mmmmkay?

Looks like I'll be busy fabbing anchor pulleys for a while.  Need one made for your paddle board?  ;D

Hmmm, no, but we may have to talk at some point.  There are some paddleboard-based ideas afloat......

Sorry for the hijack, Allen.  I'll check my schedule, and see what works for a December meet up at Silver.  I think Seaquest is the campground, yes?  Anyway, kayak polo or whatever.  Keg of High Life and questionable behavior.....

I'll start a thread in the CB later.....

yehp, seaquest state park is there right across the road from the mt. st. hiccup observatory... has a set of yurts too but some university or college seems to have them tied up most of the year on a federal research grant reservation....... and it's only 3 miles to the public launch site from that.

there's also a  struggling to get recognized b&b called the blue heron inn immediately before that on the same side of the road, plus numerous small cabin campgrounds and resorts on the lake side. some really newer ones at the far end of the lake.......

YM, what was the name of that place you stayed at last year and you me and Yarjammer launched from? i remember talking to the management while waiting on you and Amos to come in,  and they told me they never charged to launch a kayak from their boat ramp..( btw, Yar and i kinda had a chilly wake up that day in the tent while YM had a nice warm cabin and bed >:( )

that's if you want to be the big macho camper dude and go that route. i think it's actually a doable early morning road trip for most of us. i know Zee , Allen and i think BSteves drove in that morning..

but do you really want to do this in December?
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

Old Lady Hagg is soon crawling out of hibernation and looking to join the rut.  I think she’s opening up this weekend, in fact.  West siders unite; we should get together on some fine drizzly spring eve.  I won’t make it out for the opener, but will likely give her a solid paddling next week.  Spot & INSAYN, you fellas gonna brave the Sea Doos and Coors Light cans and head out there soon?  I'm gonna go steam tighten my wetsuit so that the drunken underage Mexican chicks have something sweet to stare at while they swill beer under the fishing pier.

I read on Ifish that the county is fixing the boat ramp docks this year.   They seem to be a little behind which is good for us kayakers.  We get ramp C mostly to ourselves for a month.

From Ifish...

Hey everyone,
I just got off the phone with the guys working on the Hagg Lake project to replace the docks and winch systems.
They tell me that ramp A is fully operational, but Ramp C will not have any docks until late this month. Ramp C is however open to anyone who can launch and does not need a dock to board their boat. They will also have someone posted at Launch C to assist anyone who is launching until the docks are installed.
The company making the docks had a few issues they ran into and fell behind schedule. They said they will try to keep the public posted on the progress but I suspect our best progress reports will come from the Ifish members who are out fishing each day.
