Well the wind was howling, here in the Methow, too. Checked out Patterson Lake, and I think I would have needed 10 anchors, to hold. Solid whitecaps and foam on the water. On these kind of days, we get what are called "mountain wave" winds- they can be pretty localized. We seemed to be in the LZ for a wave, with gusts to 40, or so. Went and spent some time with the family at a local Father's Day Fiesta, then traveled over to Leader Lake, over in the Okanogan. The weather conditions were much more conducive to fishing, just a 5-10mph breeze, so launched. Started marking fish as soon as I got past the weeds- there were clouds of fish! I spoke to another guy in a boat, and he was picking up good sized crappie, suspended several feet off the bottom in 15-20ftw. I was out for meat, and there are no limits, so I ended up keeping 25 crappie and 5 of the largest 'gills. >:D Kept me busy when I got home. ::) Went and explored around the lake, but the cove where I started was the only spot with crappie. Seems they were in a pre-spawn condition, from what I saw during the filleting.

so windy here the last week or so, I tossed my crab traps off of the pilings at the commercial boat basin on the Chetco.
 8 hour soak gave us 7 dungies! Butter and bread was the side dish.
 Hope all you dads had a great one!
