bsteves, did you mean can or can't?

Sorry about that.  I meant can't as in.."If I can't wiggle my toes my feet get cold."

Also, Banjo music is cool.

I suppose.. I could be paddling faster because I'm late to the bluegrass festival.

I have a pair of the electric socks that I wore under waders while duck hunting.  However, one day I thought, what if it shorts out and starts burning my foot.  It would take a while to peel everything off (and a dry suit would be harder).  Due to my (probably) irrational fears, I quit using them. One fix I had considered was to attach a switch in my sleeve or the bibs of the waders to cut the power.  I don't know where I would put it in a dry suit, unless it was a push button switch. Then, I guess you could attach it to your waist under the dry suit.

Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! I just thought of something, "the clapper".  This would allow the switching mechanism to be completely contained within your dry suit. Cold feet, clap your hands.  Feet too warm, clap your hands.  I need to patent that.

I'm talking about taking anything off, I'm saying put it on OVER your drysuit, then put a WP/B layer over that for protection from rain, snow, or wind.
Oh, over the drysuit and everything else. Yeah that could probably work. Maybe a pair of thick heeeuge neoprene socks would be the ticket.

As far as keeping your core warm, you could try either the reusable chem hotpacks which are waterproof, or iron based single use heat packs in a water resistant baggie, shoved in between your PFD and dry suit.

You could also use a reusable chem heater and tuck it under yer butt on the seat.

If you are going to try and use the heaters inside your suit, I'd suggest placing them in between two layers of socks, so that they sit right behind your medial malleous (behind the inside of your ankles), or on the tops of your feet.

I normally stuff single use heaters in my boots when snowboarding or snowshoeing, on top of my toes.  Not really noticeable when active, but keeps the toes nice and warm when I stop moving.

Of course, I don't know how effective that would be, since I haven't done any winter fishing.  Plus, you are alot taller than me - if my feet get really cold I would just cross my legs and cover them with a space blanket to trap the air around my feet and legs, maybe toss a heater in there.
