Interesting thread here. Seems when paddles are talked about the mirage drive gets thrown in there too. ;D I've talked w/ spidey about an Adventure Vs. Tarpon race (I think like 3 years ago) and it would be a lot of fun.
Zee
I think the reason that when we talk paddles and paddling the paddle vs pedal thing comes up so often is that it IS fun. I enjoy taunting my pedaling friends even though I know full well when the race is over and we finally know who was the faster, you will continue to cruise around on the troll and ill be :puke:

Zee is faster.  I'm a better fisherman.   >:D

Yeah it is. Running a local river last weekend paddling through rapids, spinning around and charging was a total blast.

But how much can you low or high row Allen?  I can do 12 reps of 270 on decline bench, but I can do 12 reps of 360 on low rows.  (thats on hammer strength machines, I think the weight would only get to around 240-250 on regular decline bench)

I'm not saying how much as it isn't very much.   ;)  Just talking in relative terms.

Not sure if anyone addressed the wing paddles yet, and I don't feel like going back through 4 pages of brokeback kayak fishing.  So ... don't do it.  IMO, wing paddles are good for going straight and fast.  It's like putting a Ferrari engine in an 18 wheeler.  Not worth the effort/money.  And they don't do well for maneuvering like you pointed out (sculling strokes, etc).

What exactly is a wing paddle?
