I can count the remaining 2009 retention days on two hands.  And the AOTY is like the postman, through rain and sleet and ....you know.  But wait, there's more.  Wali is also in town and wants to battle dino's too.

So join FishesfromTupperware, myself and BSteves (maybe?) tomorrow if you can.

We'll be meeting at the lowest (furthest?) parking lot at George Rogers park in Lake Oswego at 6:30.  Rigged, anchored and fishing by 7 AM sunrise.

If you come later, you'll see us across the river from the old boat ramp.  Remember to walk through the archway, go left past the old smelter, stop in the restrooms, and continue down the old ramp to the river.  There's another way to the right but it's more of a pain.

Hope you can join us.

Just saw the 68 point gap.  A photo finish.   I'm just trying to keep ahead of Snorlax.  I think if I get outfished by a kid, I have to fish with my pants down all next year right?

Good luck tomorrow. Please leave a few for the rest of us.

Anyone interested in looking for sturgeon Saturday? Wali, still interested?  I'll be there with my warm and mostly dry gear in the morning...

I just got off the water after a day of sturgeon fishing (PB, Willy).  The water is up a fair bit with lots of debris floating down river.  I had two large logs on the anchor rope today.  Lots of small stuff in the water today too.  Choose where you anchor carefully. 10-12 oz held where we were fishing. Moved five times before we found the fish and for three guys we had 10-15 shakers each, a monster 52.5 and a more modest 41 for the day. Bite died when the tide did around 3pm, we were on the water by 11:30 bright and early ::) and quit just before dark.  I'll put up the pic of the 52.5 when my buddy sends it to me (unfortunately not my fish :()

Thanks for the intel PP.  I'll make sure to anchor just downriver from Wali.

Jay - where are you fishing Saturday?

I hadn't decided where. The choices tend to be your back yard, near Elk rock, or Multnomah channel. I'm up for anything as long as I get a few bites...still haven't caught a keeper yet.  ???

Okay.  Good or bad, I'll post quickly tomorrow night to help you plan.  And if you are in my area, I may join you for a few hours on Saturday if I can.

Fishing in my favorite stretches :(
its my monday, i'll have to miss out. spent all day yesterday waiting on the FedEx guy with an expensive "signature required" delivery. I could have fished by the time he got here, and wouldn't have been home to fall down the basement stairs...

Unless I hear something wonderful from someone else, I'll probably launch from George Rogers in the morning and holler at you when I get hungry.   ;D

So, How'd it go today?

I'm picking up some shrimp and thawing bait for tomorrow morning.

Oh my.  Epic day.  Wali and Brian bailed so I was on my own.  Selfishly, my biggest fear was that I would catch a keeper and not get a decent picture.  Luckily, another guy in a kayak came along to take some shots of my keeper.  Sorry... I meant keepers.

Crap is all over the driveway and the blood is drying out on the yak.  So I better go clean up before I catch heck.

Pictures soon.

PM me about bait.

What a day.  I had 4 shakers and 2 keepers (49 & 51.75) Kept the second one.  The river was dirty but the debris was well organized into a line in the center of the river.  Not much debris outside of the foam line.

Hopefully I'll have some more pictures to post soon.  The other guy who kayaked up had a camera and said he would send me pics.  Fingers are crossed he follows through.

Jay.  I'm not going to fish tomorrow, but I'm happy to meet you down there and point out where we caught the keepers.  Let me know what time you plan on launching.

Nice job..  way to get into some fish.  I will be on the river tomorrow, should be good (river should be on the drop).  One question, why did you release the first 49" fish?  Way to have the confidence to "stick and stay" and wait for a bigger fish!  I would have happily knocked the 49 on the head and called it a day.
