I'm in almost the same boat  as you boxofrain (pardon the pun)  ;)  I drive a 15' Prowler and am looking for a 2nd boat for lakes and rivers up here in Washington.  The Prowler is great for the Salt, but I'd like something easier to handle and haul for inland waters.  I'm driving up to Ferndale to buy something later this week and am leaning toward the Caper, but haven't paddled any of them yet.  It's a second boat and I'm kinda considering both the Caper and Scrambler XL or XT.

The Caper will be just as wet as the Prowler with the same footwells, but the newer Scrambler XL / XT seems to have a dryer design.  We'll see.  Did you pull the trigger on your choice yet Boxofrain?

Islander,
Still hunting but thinking about the OK yak board or a frenzy. Niether has a hatch to stash things, but with some imagination and some time I can come up with a securing system for the outside of the boat. I will try to find a few I can paddle first, no other way to know how it "feels".

KEA,
My wife saw one at our local sportsshop and thinks this is the yak to get. Small enough but can handle me and my gear. Anybody ride one of these yet?
I do like the OK brand.

I've looked at a few at Gander Mountain recently (doesn't look like a great place to buy pricewise).  I'll be taking the plunge in the spring.

I haven't heard anything further on the Mini X.  Anyone know if it's set sail yet?
