One of our boys in NorCal got hit by a large Great White Shark yesterday. It knocked him out of his kayak and luckily had a fetish with the red kayak and proceeded to chew on it for a while. He got back in his yak and he's ok but a harrowing incident indeed. Good on Dan on keeping his head together and his NCKA bruddas who also kept their heads and helped him in.

BTW, where they were fishing is a real big spot for GWS. There's been many attacks on surfers, windsurfers, divers etc. so it's not too unexpected. I've surfed that area many times as a kid and have seen a few large GWS in my day. Just glad everything came out alright. Yeah, I grew up surfing there, too. Bean Hollow ain't much of a wave... but it sure looks fishy. I know why they hit that spot! That's pretty much a breeding ground, and seeing that it's not too far from Ano Nuevo, I'm not surprised at the attack at all (glad he's ok).

I am back from the San Juan Islands and home on the east side of Oahu. Right when I got home, a guy got attacked by a Tiger shark at a popular spot not too far from where I live. I take the kids surfing there often, so kind of a buzz kill. The did live, so yet more stories of the man in the gray suit.

Keep your eyes peeled. Just cuz were on top of the water doesn't mean we're on top of the chain out there.
