It was a great day today, Woke up to calm winds and low swell together for basically the first time this year for me, whoo hoo!, I was pumped even before i launched, just seemed like a fishy day. I was buoyed by the decent water color as we got out past  the entrance rock.

I eagerly dropped my mouth watering 6 inch motor oil jig down  to the bottom anticipating bendo action in no time at all.....An hour later i had made my way out toward the outside of the bay with only one weak take down to show for it..OK, maybe it needs one more day to calm down. Of course, as i passed by RoyG(revoroy) on my way he had 3 blacks in the cooler.

As i got outside the action started heating up! I landed as many blacks as i wanted to from the south side of Sunset down to the glass house off Shore Acres. Even had one hit the damn jig as i was putting a black in the bag with the pole on my lap and the jig not more than a foot in the water!!

That one greenling was the only green i caught, which is rare i usually catch a few. It's also a decent sized one(theres much bigger out there) which is wierd because i usually catch the smallest ones anybody normally sees.. :P

I was on my way in and decided to jig for a few in the Ling hole that may(or may not) still have the monster i could never conquer. First minute of jigging, hung that Ling. Love those "heading in" fish!! This Ling still didn't even come near the strength of the one that's broke me off at least three times over the two + years I've  been fishing there,.

RoyG and reed was still out there after i left, Hopefully he got a big one. Martin was out in his Hobie Pro Angler, what a battleship that thing is. If i had a good back, I'd be all over one of these. There just way too heavy, especially after a few hours in the saddle. Martin doesn't care for the turning radius, but a fair trade off for all the other pluses.

Just a great day on the water. Does a person good to get out on the ocean, smell the salt air, get lot's of bendo action!

Think I'll do it again tomorrow... Might be the last chance for a while, looks like a swell is coming.

See ya on the water..
Roy

Frick'n A!
I agree!  I'm envious! The way things ended up, I didn't get to fish yesterday, but I wanted to be out there all afternoon. The conditions here were perfect! I made it to the jetty here late, around 6pm, and talked to a couple of guys, each coming in with a nice ling. Dang!

Hey Alan, Good to hear from ya. You'll have to make it down here sometime this year for sure. If you could make it down 4th of july weekend, that would be cool(got something brewing)(no,not beer).

Sure was crappy out there today, wind came up early and it was choppy as hell. Caught a few blacks and a small keeper size ling, but i was C&Ring everything today so everything went back...
See ya on the water..
