I have to say the Chinook fishing has been more then awesome on the Willamette lately. I have filled up 4 Salmon(35", 32", 31", 31") lines on my card in the last week or so. "Jeffro" has also been banging 'em as well with multiple chinook in the last few days. If you guys need a good rush, come and hook up with a few of these monster fish. These Springer's want to pull your arms out of the sockets. I caught 2 Saturday morning within 3 hours. One of these fish towed my yak right into the side of a guides boat. You should have seen the expression on the clients faces. Priceless!!!!

Nice job guys!

Okay, I really need to get out there.   Anyone able to take a day off mid-week to go fishing? My weekends are booked with "family time" and my "work boss" is more of a push over than my "domestic boss" when it comes to time off.

I can make it for Thursays and Fridays as those are my normal days off, but not this week.  I've got family coming to town and will be busy with them.  Next week looks free for me but who knows, it may be dead by then.  ::)

D'oh!

Generally, Thursdays and Fridays are best for me too.  Not my days off per se, but easiest for me to free up.

Still using bait or have you guys moved on to spinners?

Been meaning to head down there, but have been too exhausted after work to do much more than get home.

With action like that I'd be willing to go out Wednesday and Thursday if anyone is up for it.

Nice Job!  I have been keeping an eye out for yakers when I am out fishing (almost everyday).  You guys must be fishing below Cedar Oak.  I have been fishing up higher in the OC area (PB) and they are still all over the bait.  The water temp is good but as it climbs they will switch more to spinners/hardware.  Right now they really have a taste for my eggs 8).

Dang, you've been busy on the Willy this season!
I was just out at Sellwood with my cobra tandem and my 3 year old son today, wishing we both had rods to fish with.  ;)
Where did you catch most of your fish? (if I may ask)
I'm new to kayak fishing, but have been heavily kayaking for over a decade. I've got a tandem SOT a single SOT and a single sit-in Kayak.
Any pointers for catching from a kayak??

Anyone interested in hunting springers next Tuesday, the 18th? I've got the entire day off.

@Steelheadr
I'd be into taking the day off-  would you be opposed to fishing with a newbie/greenhorn?   I've got all the gear and guts, just no knowledge. :laugh:
Where do you fish?

I believe I also get off on Tuesday morning.  Might see you guys out there.  What stretch/launch? (unless the salt miraculously cooperates)
