OCEAN KAYAK® LAUNCHES PROWLER BIG GAME™
 FISHING KAYAK FOR SERIOUS ANGLERS

FERNDALE, Wash. Ocean Kayak®, a pioneer in the world of sit-on-top kayaks, is pleased to announce their latest kayak fishing innovation, the Prowler Big Game™.

Every detail of the Ocean Kayak® Prowler Big Game™ is geared toward the serious kayak fisherman.  It easily accommodates anglers of any size with all the necessary fishing gear, including fish finders, GPS, transducer, rod holders, tackle boxes and even live bait wells, all of which can be smartly mounted or stowed on and around the boat.

At 12’ 9” in length and 69 pounds, the Prowler Big Game™ is made for the angler who demands stability and comfort.  The Big Game™ is equipped with a wide seat well, comfortable seat back and a redesigned drainage system for a drier ride.  Other key features include a large pro hatch with battery storage, extra large tank well with removable bungee, paddle keepers and adjustable foot pedals.

The flat foot-well area is great for standing or kneeling to spot fish and the molded-in keel provides smooth tracking and reduced hull slap when paddling.  Also, key to the design, the Prowler Big Game™ features stern stingers intended to help carry volume in the rear of the boat, a unique cockpit cover and a convenient storage tray.

“The kayak fishing community continues to grow at a record pace and we are focused on delivering innovation that serves the needs of the serious angler,” said Sara Knies, Director of Marketing for Ocean Kayak®.   “Our Ocean Kayak® team includes some of the most respected fishing industry professionals and boat designers, all with decades of experience and expertise to help us become the brand of choice for kayak fisherman and women,” continued Knies.

“There is nothing quite like the thrill of fishing from the deck of a kayak, especially for bigger game,” said Jim Sammons, Ocean Kayak® pro fishing team member, fishing guide and owner of La Jolla Kayak Fishing   “The Prowler Big Game™ was designed for stability in all kinds of water conditions and we are confident it will provide anglers with the ultimate kayak fishing experience.”

The Prowler Big Game™ comes in a variety of colors and features two flush mounted rod holders, large comfortable seat back, angler graphics and a small Plano ® tackle box.  The Prowler Big Game™ can also be outfitted with a rudder and a large center square hatch.  New for 2007, all of the Prowler models come in complete angler packages which include seat backs, paddles, a Humminbird® fish finder, transducer and more.

Allen,
whats the width on that that thing. Tell me too if you can, what store over in your area, or close to me that has a large selction of yaks to look at in one spot. A guy can look a yaks on the Internet til the cows come home, but where can he go to see them all, and maybe test some. By the way if you ever think about unloading an X-factor let me know, maybe we can swing a deal (oink oink) ;D

Width is 34".  Wow!

::) Yes FC, you may have yourself a deal.  How long does it take?

I don't know of any stores in the area that has a large selection of SOT kayaks.  There are no Malibu of Cobra dealers that I know of.  There are a number of OK dealers I can point you towards.  And WS has a number of dealers in the area as well.  Hobie only has a couple.  Seattle Raft and Kayak carries a couple brands I believe (including OK).  If you go to the Wenatchee River Fest, stop by and see them.  I believe Northwest Outdoor Center also carries a couple brands.  Both these stores are on the water and are able to accomadate test rides.

The Big Game is not in the stores yet.  It should be shortly.  I should have one early on.  Anyone (pjrflyguy!) is welcome to test drive it in exchange for taking me fishing somewhere.  Hey, you have to test drive it on the water, so we might as well get some fishing in.   ;D

It takes 5-6 months if I get pigglets in june. I like to slaughter after it starts to cool down a little, late october to november if I can hold them out that long, don't want them too long other wise they just add fat. I will let you know if I get pigglets this year and how I break it down price wise later. I wait until all the FFA and 4H kidd get there pigs and then prices go down. ::)

Pretty heavy for me, but I'm sure there is a market out there for it.  Like they named it Big Game for a reason maybe.  I'd want to be in something like that if I was fighting a marlin or slab halibut etc...  Gotta love where this sport is going.  It's good to have all these choices.

Floatin,
 I love pork!!!
My wife and I eat at least one pig a year and sometimes one and a half. I have been getting them from an old boss with a small farm.
This year however he decided not to raise 'em. Now if you have any extra piggy in the fall I would l;ove to buy one from you but the distance thing is a bitch.
Still looking for someone local but many that used to raise pigs have quit. And yes we do purchase from 4h and ffa at times, but lately there has been no extras in that area iether.
Oh well, I'll have to live with beef only this year if I don't find my piggy soon!!
Agree with the size at time of harvest, 225# seems to be the point of fewer returns, after that it justs costs more per popund to feed.
 Good luck with the pigs

Up here  we have a little paper called the "nickle" want ads type paper. Most towns have something like it, if you do keep looking, or put an add in one saying that you are looking for butcher hogs ready to go. That most surely will work. It just would not be cost effective for either of us because of the distance. Heck if you got the room raise one your self. Thats always a kick in butt. Otherwise I would do it. I like doing thatstuff. Iwant to get a steer as soon as I get my fenceing done. And that don't look like it will happen this year. To may other irons in the fire right now. :P

Floatin,
didn't think about the nickel! Sure we get it here too. I will put an add in to find some pigs.
Good luck with the fencing for the steer.
Their is no better meat than homegrown, no steroids, hormones or 30% added water weight allowed by our Govt. Just grass and grain.( kinda like my diet).

Oh happy, happy, joy, joy!!  I stopped by Northwest Outdoor Center on my way home from West Marine.  And what do my wandering eyes would appear ... a brand new Prowler Big Game.  WITH MY NAME ON IT!!!  I didn't have the truck to take it home with me, so I'll have to go back tomorrow and get it.  I already have plans to be on the water on Sunday, so I'll let you all know how it rides after that!

Congrats Allen

It looks like a good one, seems like it's built for bigger guys and I love that big cockpit hatch. What colour did you get?

Cheers,
