Pardon me if this has been covered already, I haven't found this subject anywhere.

I am going out to buy a Fishfinder tonight, specifically, the Eagle Cuda 340 S  :D

Here's my issue:  I have two kayaks, one is a prowler 13, the other is a Cobra Tandem. I like (and use) both of them often. I would like to just buy *one* FF and be able to switch back and forth. Now, I'm new at this, so forgive me if this sounds stupido  ???; is it possible to use the same transducer on both? From what I'm finding on some other posts, there is adhesive being used. My guess is that I can't interchange the transducer. Do I need to buy another for the second yak?

You can try over at NCKA. org as well, do a search many posts.  Here's what I've done.  I started (And still use) the Cuda 240 FF/GPS I "glued" the transducer first time, using a pool of silicon adhesive (Dap I think) slightly larger than the transducer, rocking the ducer into the puddle of silicon to not introduce any air bubbles.  After it cured it worked great for many months, until my hull (then an 04" Outback) sprung a leak at the drive well.  Well I popped the transducer out when I got my replacement hull.  Decided to try a differend adhesive, this time I tried Lexel.  So, once again, I laid a transducer sized puddle of Lexel (being careful to not introduce air bubbles into the puddle) and mushed the transducer into the puddle.  Used duct tape and a brick to hold the ducer still while the glue cure.  It took over a week to cure.
Many months passed and during a hotspell, my kayak (Again, the Outback) was stored overhead upside down, to my ceiling.  Prepping it for a an up coming event, I lowered it to floor, and noticed the lexel had softened and the weight of the transducer had "Stretched" or dropped away from the hull (being upside down at the time)
I removed the transducer, cleaned off the Lexel and reattached it using my trusty silicon.  That event I prepped for, 2 things happened, (The event was BAMIII)  Drive well sprung a leak at the drivewell again and after loading the hull with camping gear (boat in campsite at lake Mendocino) I popped the transducer off the hull by hitting it with gear.
3rd hull (Replaced free by Hobie) I used a the "Bath" mounting method.
I have pictures of the install, but not on this PC (At work) I simply took some closed cell foam,
traced the transducer outline to the foam, cut out that outline, then glue the foam onto a chosen spot in the hull. (check for leaks) The foam should be a little thicker than the transducer, as your going to pour water in the opening and then press the transducer into the opening and water should cover the transducer.  Chance of bubbles is none when the transducer is sitting in water.

Thanks guys. That helps me out a lot.
Now I'm off to the sporting goods shop to get my Fishfinder!

Moving your transducer is no big issue with the various foam well mounts. I like the pool noodle dry mount (even easier to move). The links cby posted will get you going on a variety of methods (not to mention Zee's tut pinned to the top of this forum)

But the BEST head unit mount I've seen in a while is Haze Grey's using a "bungee button." That is slicker than snot.

I don't know the Cuda 340 s, but I really like the eagle ff/gps combo's. They are well worth the extra bucks.

Thanks, Fishesfromtupperware-  I think the pool noodle is the way to go.
I just picked up the Eagle Cude 350 (earlier, i mistakenly wrote "340")
It's a combo FF/GPS with built in maps. $200.
Hoping it works out, looking forward to having fun with it
Cheers!
