That's it!  Everyone just whip em out and lay em on the table.  We'll have some non-partisan chick come in and measure them.

Long and narrow or short and wide .... errr, kayaks that is.

OMG!  Are we really having this arguement again?   :spittake:

Sheesh!

Better not use a folding card table, poor thing would collapse.

It's not how deep you're able to fish, it's how you wiggle your worm.  :laughing7:

PS- Ocean Kayak is just a brand name. It doesn't mean sh*t. The guy who designed them made them for short trips off the beach in Hawaii. Last I checked, the PNW aint Hawaii.

And the native Eskimos and Inuits that developed the first SEA KAYAKs were man enough to bag walrus, sea lions, whales etc from said SEA KAYAKS.  What's the largest fish you've killed from your superior SEA going craft?

Makes you wonder if they would have chosen a mirage drive back then so they could pedal after said beasts to get a better shot with the harpoon.

Now common sense says if I'm going to screw around in dangerous sea, I would do it in a more superior craft, like this.....

To finalize this subject. Guess I'll just ask my doctor if a mirage drive is right for me. ;D ;) Side effects include anal leakage(no rear drop panel is a true bummer),restless leg syndrome and mines so old it doesn't matter how long or wide. Everybody's right and everybody's wrong. When it boils down to it, let's all use what's good for the individual and fish on ;) ;)

Or that of a Horseneck clam.

I used to have this ongoing response to the tiny peckered individuals that have fast red sports cars that made every effort to man up against my ugly 65HP 1974 Baja bug.

Told them, sure your car is fast...wanna race and show us all how manly your car really is?

Obvious response was "Yell yeah.... blah blah blah....I'm gunna smoke your little POS car" !

It's on, but I get to pick the course we race on, and it WILL have at least one 5 foot jump, and involve alot of rocks the size of bowling balls.

The look on their face is enough to confirm, that lil Pete is vertically challenged.

Then I follow up with, if you don't want to race me with your shiny 'spensive fast car, are you man enough to ride in my POS car on said course,......twice?    :evil6:

Well, I'm not an inuit, but halibut are on my agenda next. I've had to learn on my own rather than have 10,000 years of history to teach me. If I were fishing the arctic ice sheet, I would not be in a SOT. I'd want to be protected from the elements, and have a boat that could handle rough water and dozens of miles.

But hey that's just me. Why don't you go to the arctic and test your hobie? I'll keep an eye out for the obit. :)

Might I suggest a bit more equipment than a handline for this endeavour!    ;D
