It looks like someone finally figured out how to deal with the tandem or not to tandem question when selecting a kayak.  Anybody test paddle one of these or see one in person?

holy crap!  It reminds me too much of my plastic patio/deck box I tried to snap together last summer.  It was a beyach to assemble and still snaps apart whenever I open or close it.  Hint... my daughter learned a few more swear words that afternoon.  ;D

edit:  I do admit I am thinking about the possibilities...  not only tandem-single transformation, but additional length for longer trips and storage, downsizing when hitting the small lakes for obvious reasons.

I tried out a Point 65N at PDX Kayak Co.  Not this model, but a touring boat.  Gotta say....they are nicely built.  Call PKC and see if they have one of these in the side room of SUPs and SOTs.......

That is sleek!  I'll bet it takes a while to get your sea legs after going from a T-15 or something.

I wonder what an adjustable keel would do to the speed?

If I had room in the basement I would buy it.

If only my garage was 3 feet longer.  Sweet ride.

I'm sure you could wedge it in there on the diagonal.

yeah it's low on primary and secondary, but fast as hell.

the keel/rudder is essentially the stern of the boat that moves right and left, so it creates no risidual drag while not in use, or ever really until you use it to turn.

This thing is on sale at REI right now - if anyone is actually interested in purchasing one.
