My niece caught her first bass from a kayak the other weekend:

She spent all afternoon in the boat, only coming in long enough to wolf down dinner. She even fished under a headlamp briefly before calling it a night. When I woke up at 5 or so the next morning, she was already out in the pre-dawn murk fishing away, and managed to come away with 2 more fish before we broke down camp and headed home. We're headed to the John Day this weekend for more bass and hopefully some catfish, too.

That's awesome!  I've been trying to get my daughter into fishing more.
